About Six Sigma
What is Six Sigma?

Six sigma is the concept and business management strategy, with series of analytical and statistical tools that lead to breakthrough improvements in the organizations. Six Sigma methodologies have helped organizations to improve bottom lines, market share and to reduce the cost of business. Improvement project are selected in line with organization strategy and are linked with financial results in most of the cases. Significant Improvements are achieved in productivity, Quality, cost and delivery in the organization by applying the concept of six sigma and its tools.

Six Sigma is a letter in the Greek alphabet used to denote the standard deviation of a process used to describe variability. Six sigma I disciplined approach used to reduce the process variation to great extent that the level of defects is drastically reduced to less than 3.4 parts per million .Six sigma initiatives are implemented in the organization through projects .Each project aims to improve chosen performance metrics and to sustain the improvement achieved
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
Employee of an organization who will participate in Six Sigma team or carry out projects in local domain is referred to as a Green Belt. This five day workshop enables participants to achieve Six Sigma levels of quality using the DMAIC Problem-Solving and improvement methodology to address chronic problems through root - cause analysis.

Upon completion of the 5-Day Green Belt training, participant must pass a comprehensive three four written examination before the Green Belt is certified. A Green Belt will have sufficient knowledge to support and champion Six Sigma Implementation and to participate in Six Sigma projects as a team leader or team member.
Six Sigma Black Belt
A managerial level or technical specialist assigned full responsibility to implement Six Sigma throughout the business unit is referred to as a "Black Belt". Black Belts have an in-depth understanding of Six Sigma philosophy, theory, strategy, tactics, and quality management tools.

Black Belts are Six Sigma implementation experts in the organization with the ability to:
 
  • Develop, coach, and lead cross-functional process improvements teams.
  • Mentor and advise management on prioritizing, planning and launching Six Sigma projects
  • Use, teach and disseminate Six Sigma tools and methods to Green Belts and team members


EBS Six Sigma Black Belt Training consists of four progressive training sessions of four days each. The four training sessions span approximately 16 weeks because of the interactive nature of the training, the class size is typically limited to 20 participants.
Lean Six Sigma
What is lean?

Lean is philosophy and management techniques focussed on eliminating waste in the Activities/Process, so that every process or activities is value addition from the customer perspective. Wastes make the organization inefficient and un-competitive. Lean methods will help to reduce or eliminate wastes in the organization or supply chain resulting in improved delivery of products or services to the customer
Lean waste elimination targets 7 Wastes
  • Over production – making more than what is needed by the customer/market demand
  • Over-processing –Doing more to a product or service (which is not perceived as value addition by the customer) ,Redundant or unnecessary processing work that is giving the customer r more than he/she is willing to pay for
  • Waiting – For material, equipment, information, people, approvals etc
  • Material movement (Transportation) – unnecessary movement of products during or after production
  • Correction – Error, mistakes, non conforming products, services, transactions etc
    Products / services not meeting the requirements and have to be corrected or fixed or scrapped
  • Motion – mainly People who are producing the parts or delivering the services
  • Inventory – buffer stocks or resources (RM, WIP, FG or bench staff)
What is Lean Six Sigma?
Lean Six Sigma is structured approach to apply Lean Principles and tools in conjunction with the six sigma methodology to achieve rapid and significant improvement with greater speed and reduced variation.
Module 1: Six Sigma Green Belt Training (SSGB) and Certification Program -8 Days
The program focuses on DMAIC methodology for process improvement and Exposure to relevant intermediate statistical and graphical tools. DMAIC is systematic methodology for problem solving. Module 2: Six Sigma Back Belt Training (SSBB) and Certification Program –16 Days

Black Belts are technical specialists selected to become on-site implementation experts of Six Sigma Projects. This Approach combines classroom training with project implementation and application. This program spread across 4-6 month with one week of Class room training and 3 weeks on the job applying the tools and techniques learnt in the class for the selected project
Objectives of the training
Train the participants to lead the six Sigma Projects by applying the Six sigma methodology function. Deploy Six Sigma tools and techniques to improve the overall productivity and profitability of the organization. To qualify the personnel as Six Sigma Black Belt based on the achievement of results by applying Six Sigma methodologies, Tools and Techniques in the projects.

Module 4: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Training (LSSBB) and Certification Program –16 Days

Lean Six Sigma gives participants an opportunity to follow a structured improvement and problem solving methodology. It teaches the participant how to use DMAIC model and to apply lean principles & six sigma tools to achieve the significant improvement. Participant will also learn how to play their role and effectively manage, support and motivate their teams to achieve the desired goals by applying project management skills
